One of the main objectives to come out of the September 2015 Annual General Meeting for the Fisher Heights and Area Community Association, was a long-term parks redevelopment plan, and the establishment of the Parks Planning Committee.
The Committee, made up of members of our neighbourhood, has been tasked with examining how our parks are being used, and how the community would like to see the parks evolve and improve in the future. As properties in Ottawa face redevelopment, and intensification becomes a more prominent part of the City’s plan for the future, our parks are becoming an ever-important resource in the well-being and health of our community. We must ensure that we have a voice in how the parks can and will be used.
This is where we need YOU! We want YOUR help, and we want to hear what YOU have to say. The Parks Planning Committee has developed a short survey to gather feedback from the community on how our parks are being used, who’s using them, and what you’d like to see in them in the future.
The City has a long-term replacement schedule for park equipment, however the replacements are often inadequate and rarely offer an improvement or an upgrade. With your participation we can be proactive. We can plan for the changes that need to be made; the changes that we’d like to see happen.
