A Company of Fools will once again bring their outdoor theatre to Fisher Heights Park – Wednesday July 12 – the show begins at 7 pm. Bring a blanket or chair, your friends and family, and be prepared to enjoy Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, as adapted and directed by Mary Ellis.
For 15 summers, the “Fools” have been presenting their “Torchlight Shakespeare” in Ottawa parks. This year there’s an enchanted forest, a mischievous fairy, a feuding king and queen and a troupe of terrible wannabe actors – it’s a recipe for a hilarious, magical, love-filled summer night.
Show starts at 7 pm on Wednesday July 12 and admission is Pay-What-You Can. (Suggested Donation: $15-$20.) Run time is 90 minutes without intermission.
Here’s what Patrick Langston has to say about this show, on artsfile.ca : “Really, what more could you want on a splendid July evening than an outdoor performance (beneath a couple of towering trees, no less) of Shakespeare’s hopeful, fantastical, forest-themed A Midsummer Night’s Dream? Make it one of the best shows yet by a Company of Fools, and summertime life is about as good as it gets.”
