Tree Canada- Operation ReLeaf

Tree Canada, in cooperation with the City of Ottawa and the Ville de Gatineau, developed the ‘Operation ReLeaf – Ottawa-Gatineau Tornadoes’ program following the September 2018 tornadoes and windstorm.  This program provides up to $300 to reimburse landowners for tree planting on private property to replace forest cover.  Tree Canada received close to 190 applications in the first round this spring. They have now opened a second application period which closes August 31st for trees that will be planted this fall. For this round, they are also accepting applications from landowners that had trees impacted by the 2019 tornado in Orleans.
