Fisher Heights AGM – September 30th, 2019, 6:45 pm doors open

Just one of the many successful events in our neighbourhood

Reminder: Tonight (Monday night) AGM

The association’s annual general meeting will be held on Monday, September 30, at 7:15 p.m. at our community building at 31 Sutton Place. Doors open, registration, membership renewals, and refreshments will begin at 6:45 pm.

The annual general meeting is an important event in your association’s activities, as it allows your board to update you on activities, finances, issues, and plans. It allows you to meet with like-minded neighbours and raise subjects that concern you.

No recycling speaker

Unfortunately, we don’t have a speaker on our planned recycling topic. WE’ll save that for a later date.

Fisher Heights Islamic School – Mona Egeh

However, the new principal of the Islamic School in Fisher Heights, Ms. Mona Egeh, will attend to give an update on the unfortunate setbacks and the steps currently being taken to finish the school. She was the school’s guidance councillor before she started in this new job. We are very happy to have Ms Egeh in our midst.

City Councillor Keith Egli

Rachel at the opening of the Steve MacLean Park

Keith Egli won’t attend as he is celebrating his 30th wedding anniversary. Rachel Hannah from Keith’s office will be here tonight to. Rachel has a lot of experience with several files, but we have to respect she is not the councillor. She will be supported by a city lawyer, Mr. Mark.

Ward 9 Councillor Egli with -in his own words- “his favourite lady” in Ottawa’s LRT train.

Volunteers

As mentioned before, we are looking for several volunteers: board members, website updates and a new chair of our Parks Committee. Consider volunteering not only to support the community you live in, but also as a great resume booster, as you learn perhaps lots of new useful skills. Details in our previous post.

Membership

If possible, bring your completed membership application for the year just starting up. The form can be found on the last page of the newsletter.

Email

If you receive this through a friend, consider signing up for these website updates through email on our website: Fhaca.ca

One more thing

We received a link to a collection of photos of the opening of Steve MacLean Park from Rachel Hannah at Keith’s office. Click here to see the photos on Google Drive.
