Don Flynn received the 2013 ‘Heart of the Community’ award.  Over the past 38 years, Don has been a central figure with the St. Mark’s 72nd Scouting group, taking on a variety of key roles, from section Leader to committee Chair to Jamboree delegate.  His quiet manner, determination, and leadership have had a positive influence on countless youth in our community.  Don also contributes his efforts to FHACA, delivering newsletters and working on park clean-ups.  His dedication to a cause is demonstrated again in his remarkable status as a 150+ blood donor.  Congratulations, Don, and thank you!

Margaret McPherson received the 2013 ‘Senior Volunteer’ award for her steadfast dedication to betterment of the Fisher Heights and Skyline community.  Over the past 30+ years, Margaret has provided dedicated volunteer service to Girl Guides of Canada, the Long Park Tennis Club, various health charities, and not least of all, the FHACA.  Her innovative ideas, sage advice, and positive attitude have contributed greatly to the success of our Community Association. Whether though her active participation on the Board of Directors, or organizing a new activity for the Association, or beautifying the gardens that surround the community building, we have come to depend greatly on Margaret.  A well-deserved honour!
