The Fisher Heights & Area Community Association facilitates a variety of recreational and social programs throughout the year. Several of these are sponsored by the Association and operated by community volunteers. Click on each title below for more details:
Yoga Partners
Everyone is welcome, beginners and veterans alike, during any of the five weekly sessions at Fisher Heights Community Place (31 Sutton Place).
Bridge Club
Bridge players are invited to take part in either of two weekly sessions at Fisher Heights Community Place (31 Sutton Place).
Arts & Crafts Circle
Monday mornings from 9:45 am to 11:45 am, join your friends and neighbours at Fisher Heights Community Place (31 Sutton Place) for an informal crafting session.
Outdoor Skating
Every winter, a group of dedicated FHACA members build and maintain ice surfaces for hockey and free skating in Fisher Heights Park (31 Sutton Place). Click on the title above for photos and more details.
City-Run Fitness Classes
Fisher Heights Community Place (31 Sutton Place) hosts two fitness sessions every week for those 50 and older, which are operated by the City’s Parks and Recreation branch. For more information, click on the title above, or contact Kristy Hardiman at (613) 580 2424 ext. 41238.
Long Park Tennis Club
This Club is operated by a small group of neighbourhood volunteers, independently of the Community Association, under the auspices of the City of Ottawa. Four courts at the southern end of Steve McLean Park (near the corner of Meadowland and Deer Park) are available to members every year between mid-April and mid-November. Walking Club
Stretch your lungs, meet some neighbours, and enjoy the outdoors as part of the Community Walking Club. Free to join, this group meets Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays at 9:30am for a one hour walk through the neighbourhood. Everyone is welcome, and there is sure to be a pace that’ll suit your abilities.
