At the southern end of Steve McLean Park, near the corner of Deer Park and Meadowlands, stands the Long Park Tennis Club (the club did not have its name changed when the park itself was renamed).
The club is operated by a small group of neighborhood volunteers. It is located at 1170 Deer Park Road (corner of Deer Park Road and Meadowlands). Four courts are available to members between April and the end of October, seven days a week, dawn til dusk. For more information, contact Cheryl Clarke (firstname.lastname@example.org).”
Membership registration for 2018 season
Long Park Tennis Club will hold three Saturday registrations in the next few weeks on the following dates:
–Saturday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to noon
–Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to noon
–Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to noon
Anyone interested in joining can try out the courts for free during these registration times so pass this info along to any friends that may be interested. Weather permitting, nets will be up and courts waiting for players to make use of them. Members are issued a gate key upon registration and have access to the courts to the end of October, dawn to dusk. The refundable fee for keys is $15 or bring last year’s key and exchange it at no charge. We are planning to resurface the courts at the end of May so members will be treated to a pristine court surface for most of the season.
Membership fees are as follows:
-Family (parents and children under 18): $80
-Student (enrolled at university or college): $50
-Junior (under the age of 18): $32
Entry to the courts is by a locked gate system which is necessary for insurance coverage. The lock is rekeyed every April; members who return their key at the end of a season do not have to pay a $10 key charge the following season.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT LESSONS (Beginning July 12th)
The club will offer a set of five one-hour lessons on Wednesdays starting May 16 at 6:30.
Cost for the package is $55.
Instructor Nick Patterson and his team are fully certified instructors that work with several Ottawa clubs. Nick has been teaching tennis to adults and children for 35 years. Three years ago, he started Tennis for Life Ottawa and teaches full-time at the Rideau Sports Centre.

If you’re interested, please sign up at the clubhouse registrations above or contact Cheryl (email@example.com). Courts are located at the corner of Meadowlands and Deer Park Road (1170 Deer Park Road).
The club has been in operation since the 1960s and, since 1991, has been operated by a small group of neighbourhood volunteers, under the auspices of the City of Ottawa. The aim is to provide a safe and good environment within the Fisher Heights area where families can enjoy recreational tennis.
