Long Park Tennis Club

At the southern end of Steve McLean Park, near the corner of Deer Park and Meadowlands, stands the Long Park Tennis Club (the club did not have its name changed when the park itself was renamed after Fisher Heights’s former resident Steve McLean, former astronaut).

Neighbourhood volunteer run

The club has been in operation since the 1960s and, since 1991, has been operated by a small group of neighbourhood volunteers, under the auspices of the City of Ottawa. The aim is to provide a safe and good environment within the Fisher Heights area where families can enjoy recreational tennis.

The club is located at 1170 Deer Park Road on the corner of Deer Park Road and Meadowlands). Four courts are available to members between April and the end of October,  seven days a week, dawn till dusk.

Membership registration for 2021 season

  • Family (parents and children under 19): $80
  • Single Adult: $58
  • Student (enrolled full time at college or university): $50

Gate key is $15 or return last year’s key for a new one free.

Entry to the courts is by a locked gate system which is necessary for insurance coverage. The lock is rekeyed every April; members who return their key at the end of a season do not have to pay a $15 key charge the following season.
